Victoria Point // BROAD BEACH // malibu // 90265

King Construction performed a major remodeling of this home back in the late 1990s. The house was still in its original form and had not been touched since it was built in the early 70’s. We took it down to the studs to create the complete transformation to what it is today. With the selected materials that we used at the beach, the result is a home that has performs well over time.

Think we only build mansions? Think again! Better Homes and Gardens featured this mobile home project back in July 15th, 2015. This jewel box started out as a 1973 double wide with a small cabana addition. With the extensive experience of making the most out of small spaces, King Construction worked with Frances Merrill of Reath Designs to create a home that is both elegant and homey.

MARINE STREET // SANTA MONICA // 90405

This ocean view penthouse that sits on the border of where Santa Monica meets Venice started out as a stone cold industrial living space. King Construction teamed up again with Reath Designs and performed a complete makeover for the owner’s return to the area of their youth.

THE SIRMAI-PETERSON HOUSE // THOUSAND OAKS // 91360

This house started out as a napkin drawing at a restaurant. King Construction was commissioned to complete this one of a kind residence just outside Lynn Ranch when the original builder had run out of gas.

In the 80’s it was a first for Marty King of King Construction to embrace the style and detailing of a still new on the scene Frank Gehry.

“I toured the homes in Santa Monica that Frank designed,” Marty recalls, “so I could get a sense of direction of where he was aiming. It was a new journey working with the owners to produce a workable home with the non-typical designs and materials that Frank was envisioning for this ranch location. In the end it was one of the greatest learning experiences, to go against everything that I had been taught and just embrace the vision Gehry and the owners wanted.”

Rambla Vista DUPLEX // Malibu // 90265

Updating a duplex in Marty’s original neighborhood had a lot of challenges as it was originally developed by an active fireman and his buddies. It was down to the studs for this one, but since it’s a duplex, it was times two! Just like having mirror twins. Upon completion these units had everything new, with views of the ocean through the front patio doors and windows. The retractable skylights in the roof lets in a natural light and fresh air and is perfect for stargazing from the living room at night.

Calpine Dr. // MALIBU PARK // Malibu // 90265

This was a down to the studs rebuild in the Malibu Park area. The house was in major disrepair when the owner purchased it. The roof leaked, the addition to the house leaked, and the house plumbing leaked. With a house in this bad of shape we demolished it down to only the rotten wood framing. We then replaced the old with the new and built it back up again. After all the hard work the house has a new life as a beautiful old world highbred Tuscany. With our expert use of the antique East Coast hand hewn barn beams, the look and feel is authentic, down to the details.

OASIS SALON // MALIBU // 90265

This space was vacant for years in central Malibu when the owners of a West Malibu Salon made an offer to bring some life into it. King Construction worked with veteran local architect, Lester Tobias to transform the old tanning bed shop into the full featured salon that now serves clients in the heart of Malibu. It was no easy task working on this old commercial building, but after the demolition, our team installed new plumbing, new electrical, walls, ceilings and floors. The new floor plan easily incorporates all the amenities the owner wanted to make available to her clients. After setting all the new fixtures, the doors were open for those to enjoy this Oasis at the beach.

Pool and Pool House

This is the third project that we performed on this property for the owners. Now that the new kitchen, dining room and living room were completed it was time to set our attention to the outside. We performed a ground up development for a new backyard, swimming pool and spa, garage with a pool house and a sport court. The fully stocked outdoor kitchen is ready for entertaining twelve months of the year with your friends and family.
