WEST END OF Pacific Coast Hwy // Malibu // 90265

This was a 40+ year old modular home that had multiple additions scabbed on it before we started. It was quite a challenge to morph it into the picture perfect highbred craftsman-style beach digs that now exists in its place.

We stripped this place down to the rotten wood framing, poured a new foundation under that and then installed fresh new framing. This gave us the opportunity to create a brand-new house in the footprint of the original one.

Every inch of the home was detailed to the owner’s desire to have nothing but the best.

King Construction built this home like all of our other projects to withstand the wildfires that are part of living in Southern California. In the 2018 Woolsey Fire, homes burned on both sides of the Pacific Coast Highway, but this home was tested and unharmed. Part of the fire protection plan included stained and embossed concrete shingles that look like wood but perform like concrete. Patios, entry bridge, decks and the driveway are a tile or colored concrete. All other exposed surfaces are covered with concrete stucco. Even the property line walls are either stone or concrete.
